So, yesterday it actually snowed. Not any of this hail or anything that has happened earlier. But it actually snowed. From locals I have heard that it did not really snow that much. But it was at least 3-4 inches. This is more snow than I am typically used to. So I guess I am in for a real surprise. Apparently it can dump something like 1-2 feet on a particular day of the year.
I was happy to see that here in Erie, they clear the roads fairly well and the snow was actually fairly dry - that was sort of surprising.
I also went hiking a few days ago in Erie Bluffs State Park. It isn't really a state park. They just made the area a state park and they haven't developed it at all yet. I ran into people fishing, and people hunting within about 1/2 mile. I guess that is just something that happens here in Erie, PA. I sure have never seen anything like this before where I am from. I personally thought it was ridiculous that there were fishers (with children hanging around and families) and hunters with shot-guns, and hikers, all within about 1/2 mile of each other.
I would not be surprised if there were a decent amount of accidents that happen around here. I have always enjoyed nature and wild-life. But I guess here in Erie, if I see a deer, I can enjoy it just until it gets shot!
I also got my first tick. Not the most pleasant experience. I pulled it out and it sure didn't want to leave. It left a bruise (purplish) at the puncture site. I'll be watching for Lyme Disease.
Be safe out there in Erie PA.
