Asbury Park is probably the most remote park in Erie Pennsylvania. It is made up of many miles of trails amidst housing developments. It is a beautiful piece of wilderness on the outskirts of town. You get there by going South on Asbury Road until you reach 38th St. Continue south on Asbury until you reach either the Asbury Park Community Center or the barn on the west side. The white barn has parking and there is also parking to the south west of the barn. This is the best place to park. There are trails leading out from there.
The trails are very well maintained but can be extremely confusing. If you happen to wander correctly through the first few turns, head towards Walnut Creek and you will be more than surprised. It is well worth the walk. Walnut creek is about a 1 to 1.5 mile walk from the trailhead. It is a small river that rides on top of a rock bed. It is beautiful stream that during the summer time could be easily walked on. There are also cliffs that line the sides of the river (10 foot cliffs) that make it very picturesque.
I plan to return in the summer as there is a nice little swimming hole on the creek trail near a bend in the river. There is also a little beach with some rocks and a little sand. A perfect little place for a little get away. There is also lots of wild life in this area. We spotted many deer and larger game tracks in the region.

Lu-you have a scale that tells you your body fat percentage? My sister-in-law has one and I was scared to step on it. If you have 15% body fat then I must be off the charts!
So, I remembered today to find your blog...very cute Lu :-)
Thanks a lot for posting these, this is a very beautiful place that I'm definitely going to have to check out soon!
